Overview
This is a circular 6 mile Moderate walk, (Local Grade C+) starting at Palacerigg Country Park where there is good car parking at the Visitor Centre. The walk initially follows easy tarmac paths through a short wildlife trail then heads to Fannyside Loch. From there it continues through a mixture of good woodland paths and more open land, allowing a view of the outskirts of Cumbernauld, before descending into Glencryan Woodlands where the paths are criss-crossed with tree roots. It then follows a disused quarry and the paths become a little steeper before meeting up with the service route into the park that is used by local horse riders.
