Walking North Third at night transforms a classic Stirling hike into an atmospheric adventure. While the daytime views are expansive, the nighttime experience is all about the silhouette of the crags against the stars and the moonlight reflecting off the reservoir.  ​

The route is around 3 miles with around 100m of ascent, speed will be determined by the group. There will be a mixture of terrain including some hills, rocks, steps, roots and mud.  ​

⚠️ Night Safety Essentials  ​

Lighting: A high-quality headtorch is mandatory. Bring a spare (or extra batteries).  ​

Underfoot: The "Bog Factor" is real. Expect slippery mud and hidden roots—sturdy boots with good ankle support are a must.  ​

The Edge: The Lewis Hill escarpment has sheer drops. Keep a safe distance from the edge, especially in windy conditions or low visibility.

Parking is very limited at the start point so we will park at Battle of Bannockburn visitor centre around 1745 and car share to the start point at 1800. Please confirm your attendance ASAP but I have set a cut off time of 2100 on Wednesday 18th to allow time to plan any car sharing, if you are able to offer a lift please confirm this too.
