We got amazing weather for today’s 11km circular hike today.  

The route starting from Craigmead car park just outside Falkland, and took us along grassy paths and tracks to the foot of West Lomond, where we had a quick water stop before ascending up the hillside to the trig at 522m.  We got great views over to East Lomond and the surrounding hills, and looking down over to Loch Leven in Kinross.   From there we dropped downhill, taking our time on the steep grassy hillside, to pass through the Devil's Burdens.  We continued further downhill to join the heather path which crosses the flat hillside, to join the route to walk along the path above John Knox's Pulpit where we stopped off for our lunch break and enjoyed the lovely sunshine and great views down the Glen Vale.  From there we continued on our walk down into the gorge to the base of the sandstone outcrop to visit the waterfall.  Due to the dry weather there was only a trickle of water today.  We then walked back up the opposite side of the gorge to join the main path above which we followed over towards the forest and walked across the top end of Harperleas Reservoir before returning to car park. 

It was really nice to have Linda from Livingston Ramblers, and Steve from Dunfermline & West Fife Rambles join our walk today, which was enjoyed by all.
