Walk Leader - Babs
When I looked at the weather forecast for this walk it wasn’t looking too great. Pretty much damp and dreich all day but we were lucky and it only started raining as we were on the home leg.
21 walkers had asked to come along today and we started off with 18 all well wrapped up. Lots of chit chat which amazes me as some of these walkers had been out walking the previous day. How can you talk that much? Who knows but if there was to be a study done ramblers would be expert guinea pigs.
We met up with up with a couple of men who were checking that we were not vandals causing chaos on their golf course. One look at us and the all clear was given. That was at our first break and the second came along quite quickly as seating areas were not abundant on the route ahead of us.
We walked along the canal and through a small wooded area eventually coming out in a very nice housing estate which led us to another street with some lovely gardens full of garden ornaments. If you have ever wondered how many different characters you can get in one garden you just have to take a minute and feast your eyes on one of them. I have seen this garden before but I swear they had been breeding. Plus a new addition a very large, black standard poodle in pride of place. I wish I could have taken a photo but that just felt rude.
The rain came on very gently and it was when we were nearing the cars that it came down more heavily. Time to get into our vehicles and head for Klondyke and tea and cakes.
Thank you everyone for coming and thank you Billy for being such a good back marker.
Thanks to all those of you who send me your photos. If there were any duplicates or similar views, I have only upload the best one.
