Turn up at the east cp for 10.00 only to find that some of the party are there already , what a cheek ! We had driven past the west cp and gasped at how chocka it was . Its slightly chilly and overcast but looks fine for our walk today , so nine of us start off . We are onto the coastal path which is fairly quiet , this is more than I can say about the group behind me ! The conversation at my back is definitely of a mocking nature with regard to the walk leader but I am prepared to ignore this , for the moment . There is a "is it coffee break yet " mentioned from the rear , blooming heck we have only just started off . One of the party misses the path and finds herself on the grass square which luckily is not totally fenced in . Crossing the road we pass through the short tunnel which has been decorated by a local school of local tourist attractions . I note that Nessie has a place in this mural and why not ? The Deputy Walk Leader directs the group to cross back over the road in order to view the plaque relating to some poor woman accused of being a witch back in 1704 . So we walk on after reading about this tragic part of our history .
Stopping for our coffee break and I haven't even taken my first sup when the question is asked "Lunch is when " ? Honestly some people are well and truly taking the biscuit , speaking of which , mm lovely . . . . Back onto the path and through some strange bent trees above us , now up the only incline we have today . There is a bit of puffing at the back but once up the view across the Forth is well worth it I think . The view takes in the river , Bo'ness and Grangemouth which has only a hint of its industrial past . Tracking us from above is a helicopter , someone wonders if its mountain rescue . We have climbed if that is the word , a mere 40 feet , so I hae my doubts . The sun is out and the temperature is steadily increasing , jackets are taken off .
Two of the group grab the first bench facing onto the Forth while the rest of the party find some picnic benches to finally have lunch . Some idle chatter takes place while some try and solve the problems of the world , momentarily only of course . We are walking past some very large houses and you can almost smell the money involved . Its rather warm now and it is a pleasure to find some shade as we stroll along . Now we are at our cp which is full to the brim , where have all these people came from ? Well obviously the good weather has dragged them out and why not ?
Most of the party drive to the Puttery for a well earned cuppa , well that would be me and the Deputy Walk Leader of course ! At the table there is a lot of noisy blethering but in the interests of decency I cant mention any of it . . . . . .
